Final

Golden Boy Promotion CEO Richard Schaefer and big boss Bob Arum of Top Rank Promotion will meet on Monday to finalize and workout all the details for the much awaited rematch between two boxing icons, Manny Pacquiao and Marco Antonio Barrera on October 6, 2007 at Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas. Marco Antonio Barrera will try to avenge his lost to Manny Pacquioa in a 11th round technical knockout on their first meeting last November 2003 in San Antonio, Texas which many says as the biggest upset of the year.

Schaefer believes that Barrera has a good chance against Pacquiao pointing out that whenever fight fans count him out the Mexican performs at his best. Schaefer referred to Barrera’s fights against flamboyant Naseem Hamed and the third fight in his classic trilogy against Erik “El Terrible” Morales which Barrera won.

The Golden Boy CEO agreed with those who thought that the fight against Juan Manuel Marquez when Barrera lost his WBC super featherweight title was a close fight. The Golden Boy Promtion CEO qouted offing that Barrera’s career “has been built on challenges and Barrera lives for these fights and these kind of big challenges.”

Schaefer says “ I think we will see Marco Antonio Barrera yet again turning back the clock to make everyone a believer.” In a previous interview with Marco Natonio Barrera, he said after his loss to Pacquiao this fight will be really different because "I know what he can do and I know what I can do." Barrera said "the first time it was about competition, to be the best...this time it is about revenge. I will train very hard and I will be very prepared.

I like this match up because Pacquiao can win this one easily. that is, if he trains hard and follows Freddie Roach's game plan. I think Barrera is too old but cannot be totally discounted. He is highly skilled so he ramains a dangerous opponent. Let's just hope that the Pacman can bring glory to
Pinoy boxing and please his fans by giving it his all. Go Manny!
